Details: The Grampians National Park has the reputation of being a unique place. It's spectacular scenery and great diversity of flora & fauna make it a popular place to visit.

This talk is based around a visit taken in September 2008 and will look at what makes the Grampians special. With over 1/3rd of Victoria's flora found here, particular emphasis will be paid to the flora of the area. At the end some suggestions on growing the Grampians flora will be covered.

Activity Details

Find out how to propagate native plants from seeds and cuttings and then pot the young plants into tubes and later on, as they grow, to replant them into larger pots. Learn about soil mixes and potting techniques from other members. Observe the growth of plants in the council’s propagation  ‘igloos’ and shadehouse. Experience the satisfaction of producing healthy established plants ready to give away to the community at special events. The nursery has excellent facilities with sheltered areas and a landscaped environment. You will enjoy the quiet as you do something productive in this peaceful setting.
